Phillip - as a CCCC ordained minister, I have found your articles to be very helpful. I long for what you describe as "classical congregationalism." Please continue writing articles and books that clarify what the historic foundation of Congregationalism was in hope and prayer that those who have abandoned it may return to it. And those who know not of it would be prompted by the Holy Spirit to build upon it. Thank you.

I couldn't agree with you more. HIPAA laws do need to be changed. I had worked in hospitals prior to the law and never saw any of the issues that they claim they needed to protect. Although, I am sure that laws are needed to protect your health care history from general knowledge and to protect your identity information.
Recently my mother in law was hospitalized in another state and even being a family member they withheld her condition and progress from us until we could prove we had power of attorney. Over the phone they would not believe that we were family members. On another occation, at the nursing center, they told us we could talk to her and find out how she was doing!
Honestly, if I were ill or dying in the hospital and friends wanted to visit, that should be my call not HIPAA's.

"I am reminded of the words in James, “Don’t many of you seek to be teachers becuase in doing so you incur a stricter judgement."
Perhaps Mr. Scofield should have taken that to heart.

This certainly seems a worthwhile endeavor. I read the excerpts from one of Nevin"s boks (from the Mercersburg site) and I could see the value in bringing the writing up to date!

Very good show and Phil makes some interesting points. I noticed the host seemed to be keen on Phil getting his comments in. Some of these "talking heads" seem to really know how to keep their message going but sometimes the substance seems vague. I don't watch many online videos but it's surprising how many of them are on RT.

I have just finished the book and I would recommend it to anyone. It's a very elucidating series of sermons (over a years worth!) that really had me considering aspects of Paul's ministry that I had glossed over before. Looking forward to Marking God's Word next. Thanks

I appreciate your article about the life and times of Mr. Scofield. It seems to me you have done a successful job of proving that he was a sinner(as we all are). I did not have any background on the man when I first picked up his reference bible. I have read many of the notes and have found them to be insightful. I believe your fears are unfounded in regard to portions on the bible being set aside by readers of this text. Like the writings of all "men", save those moved by the Holy Spirit, they should be evaluated under the intense light of God's Word. God will certainly judge Mr. Scofield as He will us all. I am reminded of the words in James, "Don't many of you seek to be teachers becuase in doing so you incur a stricter judgement.

Gary,
It seems that your question is not about whether people are trinitarian, but whether our trinitarianism comes from the same Spirit as God's. Of course, it does. But we don't have it in the same measure as God does. So, there are both similarities and differences.
