About

Founded in 2000 by Phillip A. Ross, Pilgrim Platform has provided an ardent voice for the ongoing reformation of Christianity in the modern and postmodern world. Ross, grew up as a congregationalist, graduated from a congregational seminary, served congregational churches. and provides seminal analysis and criticism of congregationalism.

The original vision of Christianity on the American continent came from the congregationalists who came to America on the Mayflower in 1620. That vision was for the new world to be a city on a hill (Matthew 5:14), to provide a generic Christian template for a world where Christ was King. That vision preceded the founding of the American Experiment by 150 years. That voice has been all but drowned out by a cacophony of partisan sects that pockmark the American landscape.

We endeavor to revivify that voice, to recapture its beauty, sensitivity, passion, and breadth of vision. Pilgrim Platform endeavors to provide a voice for ordinary Christianity, generic Christianity, for the twenty-first century, God willing.
